The menu options were great. The owner/chef was very friendly and has over 30 yrs experience making Hispanic foods. Spiciness was on point so take care when ordering the extra spicy salsa that is made there (so good). Every menu item we tried was true to it's roots and delicious. The cocktails were also on point! We will definitely frequent Barrio!

The Barrio was great for elevated Mexican cuisine. The chips alone were super tasty with two different salsas. We had the Agua Chile as an appetizer it was my favorite. For entree I had chilaquiles and my spouse had three different tacos. Everything was served hot and plated beautifully. Great flavor throughout. Would have liked Salt and pepper to taste at the table, would be my only critique.

If you live in Madison / East Limestone and you haven't been here you're missing out. This is our favorite restaurant to come to the area in a LONG time. The food is so FRESH, and the chef puts so much thought and care into every dish. This isn't your average greasy, gut bomb TexMex. It's modern craft Mexican cuisine. The Asada is honestly the best steak I've had in Huntsville / Madison. I lived in California for 10 years, and Barrio more than holds up to the higher end, modern Mexican food there. Worth every penny, and we're happy to be regulars at this amazing place.

Barrio Modern Mexican Cuisine is very delicious Mexican with an awesome tasting modern flare! We loved the ambiance. Justin and Michelle are delightful and they make some great Mexican plates! Definitely a step up for Huntsville and Athens areas. You have to try their three taco plates that come with delicious rice and beans. Really cool restaurant! See you next time, Barrio!

Service: 5/5 The service was outstanding Ellie, Marissa, and Erica were so friendly and I have never experienced such warmth. Ellie has this infectious smile and it’s so contagious, I found myself just smiling randomly because of it. Food: 5/5 I ordered the Asada and it was cooked to perfection. The street corn fantastic. The churros were outstanding. I mean I could go on. Don’t take my word for it come see for yourself! Later foodies!!

I don't do a lot of ratings, but this restaurant really deserves it! I walked in, just wanting chips and salsa. Thought it was just another Mexican restaurant. I was so wrong! I took one look at the menu and was shocked at the variety. I ordered the Mahi Mahi with rice amazing!! Ordered the churros, definitely the best I've ever had. Most importantly, it's not a chain. The owner/chef came out and greeted every table. Extremely humble. Side note plated tables! Will be extremely successful, just in an odd word of mouth definitely needed.

Excellent modern Mexican cuisine. I had chorizo salad and wife had chicken chop salad. Had the pleasure of meeting Chef Justin, who was personable and welcoming. Other staff members were also friendly, good old southern hospitality. Just passing thru but wished we were here longer so we could try more of the menu like all the taco options. Highly recommended.
